Veronica has done voice work since 2002 for audio and video productions. Her projects have included educational videos, science fiction and fantasy podcasts, and instructional podcasts for university professors.
In 2005, Mercedes Lackey and Steve Libbey approached Veronica to have her read an episode for the podcast novel series, The Secret World Chronicle. Veronica's first reading, Fear and Loathing in Lost Wages, earned her current position as the sole voice talent for The Secret World Chronicle. In 2007, she re-recorded the introductory pieces for Book One: Invasion at the request of the authors. Due to Steve's declining health, Veronica also assumed production and promotional duties for the podcast in September 2009.
In June 2010, she took on full responsibility for the Secret World Chronicle website and is overseeing the redesign of the site, to be launched by 2011 and to coincide with the release of Book Four.
Currently, all three Secret World Chronicle books are available via Podiobooks. In Spring 2009, the series was sold to Baen Books with a publication date of 2010.
Author Edward Clark approached Veronica in 2009 with the idea of offering his novel, The Ballad of Iron Percy, as a free audiobook through Podiobooks. The Ballad of Iron Percy was launched on April 30, 2010, and the alternating first and third person storytelling demonstrates the range of Veronica's voice as well as her affinity for storytelling in the role of the main character, Pandemona.
This podcast novel is currently in production, with the expected completion date of the series sometime in Fall 2010.
In 2010, Veronica started Voices By Veronica in an endeavor to make her voiceover services available to other authors seeking to offer their work in the podcast medium.
Since 2009, Veronica has been a contributing author and worldbuilder for Incubator Press. Her first story, "The Keepers", is part of the debut anthology. Illustrated by Cristian Navarro, this story is a teaser for a larger series to debut sometime in 2012.
She is a contributing writer for The Secret World Chronicle podcast, authoring stories in both the Secret World War miniseries (Secret World War: Retrieval) as well as Book Three: World Well Lost.
Veronica Giguere worked at the Florida Institute of Technology within the Department of Information Technology from 2002 until 2007. During this time, she was involved with instructor training and multimedia solutions for graduate and undergraduate course offerings as well as the launch of iTunes U at the university. She contributed as a scriptwriter and voiceover artist to the Olin Production Studio, authoring short commercials on topics such as antivirus protection and personal account security as well as informational audio clips on the use of podcasting as a supplement to classroom lectures. Veronica also wrote the script for and voiced the promotional video to commemorate the installation of the Descending Panther by Rosetta at the University's Panther Plaza.
In 2007, Veronica collaborated with Dr. Deborah S. Carstens and Mr. Joshua S. Quist on research in podcasting, specifically the learning effectiveness of live versus asynchronous lectures. This research was published in the Journal of Management & Engineering Integration in 2009.
Since 2007, Veronica has served as the Associate Director for the Academic Support Center at the Florida Institute of Technology and is responsible for the University Experience course, a weekly seminar offering that is mandatory for all incoming first-year students. She is also heavily involved in issues concerning academic probation and teaches the Strategies for Success course. Her current research focus involve hybrid courses specifically tailored to the learning needs of first and second year university students, with a heavy emphasis on learning styles, time management, and multimodal review strategies.
